STUDENT COUNCIL
The Student Council attend outside events such as *Comhairle na nÓg in Sligo and we have three elected members on the Sligo Youth Council. *Four students attended the European Union Youth Forum in Galway. *A youth drama in the Ocean Sands in Enniscrone organised by Sligo County Council. The Council communicated with schools structures (i) they met two members of the Le Chéile Trust; (ii) they wrote a letter on behalf of the student body regarding the Castlefield to the Community Council. (iii) they wrote a letter regarding class allocation in Fifth Year to Management; (iv) they attended the final staff meeting, to outline their constitution and discuss activities. Improvements were made on publicising activities. Reports were displayed on the Council noticeboard. A raffle was held at the Transition Year Talent Night. Students Emma Mulrooney, Shona Kilgannon, Áine Ryan and Fiona Coyne represented our school at the European Youth Parliament in Galway. The Connaught/Ulster Regional Conference was held in February. At the conference they researched and debated issues such as Third World Development. They found the conference interesting and beneficial. Well Done to all on the Council!
